Gabinete do Xerife do Condado de Allegheny alerta sobre fraude envolvendo documentos judiciais falsos e multas falsas

Pessoas que se identificam como deputados do xerife estão usando documentos judiciais falsos para tentar tirar dinheiro dos Pittsburghers, anunciou o Gabinete do Xerife do Condado de Allegheny na quinta-feira.
“Eles estão se identificando como delegados do gabinete do xerife e solicitando que as pessoas paguem uma multa por ignorarem uma intimação para comparecerem como peritos no tribunal federal”, disse Mike Manko, porta-voz do xerife Kevin M. Kraus. “A pessoa é informada que o não pagamento imediato da multa por telefone ou mensagem de texto resultará em sua prisão.
“Nosso escritório nunca discute qualquer tipo de mandado por telefone e nunca tentamos cobrar multas ou outro dinheiro por telefone”, acrescentou Manko. “Além disso, as únicas pessoas responsáveis por cumprir mandados envolvendo tribunais federais são o United States Marshals Service.”
As autoridades não acreditam que nenhum residente da área tenha sido vítima do esquema, disse Manko.
Se alguém for abordado por telefone, mensagem de texto ou e-mail por pessoas que afirmam ser do Gabinete do Xerife, deve ligar para a divisão de investigações do Gabinete do Xerife no número 412-350-4709, disse Manko.
“Esses tipos de golpes são difíceis de cobrar na ausência de vítimas, devido ao fato de que é extremamente difícil descobrir de onde e de quem o golpe se origina”, disse Manko.
O Gabinete do Xerife forneceu uma cópia de um mandado falso, ilustrado abaixo, que está sendo usado pelos golpistas para tentar solicitar dinheiro e informações pessoais das vítimas.
